Nissan, Eltham
Client: Ancaster
Discipline: New Build
Value: £3.5m
Programme: 36 weeks
The existing Nissan showroom and workshops were demolished and a contemporary unified showroom, workshop, car storage and valet facility were constructed from the ground-up as part of Eltham High Street regeneration. The scheme was subject to stringent and detailed planning conditions. Chiltern were proud to achieve a BREEAM ‘very good’ status and all works were carried out within the residential area under the ‘Considerate Contractor’ scheme.
The building was designed as a hybrid of systems which include solar panels on the valet bay roof, water harvesting which is then used in the back-of-house toilets and sensor flow taps to restrict water use.
The site area was limited so the roof of the main building features a roof deck for car storage complete with car lift and charging bays.
Because the site is located next to a petrol station a glazing sprinkler system had to be installed to protect the building in the event of an incident.
Bat and bird boxes and an insect hotel also feature to support local wildlife.
The project was delivered in a very tight programme and on budget.
